Lissa Brown

Lissa Brown has been writing since she learned how to form letters in her native New Jersey. She’s been a columnist, a speech writer, a ghost writer, and a media relations specialist for organizations and political campaigns. Following careers in teaching, public relations and marketing, she and her spouse retired to their present home in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains.

She is the author of Real Country: From the Fast Track to Appalachia under the pen name, Leslie Brunetsky. Family Secrets: Three Generations, Another F-Word and its sequel, Family of Choice. Her work also appears in several anthologies and journals.

Lissa earned a bachelor’s degree in history from The College of New Jersey and a master’s degree in contemporary civilization from Kean University.

In her spare time she hikes in the mountains and attempts to play bluegrass banjo.
