Karen has always loved daydreaming and making up imaginary worlds to create her own stories. Born and raised in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, she is a northerner at heart and loves the outdoors. She is especially fascinated with natural environments and can often be found wandering with her camera to capture the moment.

   After graduating from the University of Toronto many moons ago, she returned to Northern Ontario and worked for the Ontario Government. While there, she co-authored two published field guides: Forest Plants of Northeastern Ontario and Forest Plants of Central Ontario.

   In 1998, Karen moved to Ottawa, Ontario and met the woman of her dreams during her first week in the city. Over twenty years later, they are still very much enjoying their journey through life together.

   Karen is also the author of two novels published by Bella Books. My Forever Hero is a romantic thriller set in Australia and Kindling for the Heart is a winter romance set in Northern Ontario.
